Not only is faux suede fabric a kinder alternative to real suede, which is made from cowhide, it’s also much cheaper to buy! It has the exact look and feel, but with the care instructions of a modern synthetic material. Suedette is made from polyester microfiber that’s much stronger than real suede, which is delicate and can often rip.
These days, it’s common to use faux suede when making stylish outerwear like biker jackets, aviator jackets and faux fur coats. A real suede coat can cost a fortune, so making your own faux version using suedette material is a much cheaper option - while you still get the durable and warm properties. It’s a win-win!
